Simplify Gift Card Use in Offline Payments with SimplySync
Gift cards are a popular choice for customers, offering flexibility and convenience. For small businesses, managing these cards across both online and offline payment flows can be challenging. Now, SimplySync has made it easier than ever to redeem gift cards during in-person or offline transactions, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience for both you and your customers.
Why This Matters for Your Business
Whether you're at a pop-up event, a trade show, or simply taking payments in person, being able to redeem gift cards directly from your platform streamlines the process. No longer do you need to rely on customers to redeem their own gift cards on a separate checkout interface. This update empowers you to take control of the payment process, ensuring efficiency and reducing the potential for errors.
When to Use This
This feature is particularly useful in scenarios where you're manually processing payments outside of a standard online checkout. For example, imagine you're at a local market and a customer wants to pay for a product using a gift card they previously purchased from your store. With this update, you can quickly enter the gift card code, apply the balance, and collect any remaining amount using their saved payment method—all within the SimplySync platform. This not only saves time but also enhances the customer experience by avoiding the need for additional steps or devices.
How It Works
Redeeming gift cards is now supported across several key areas of SimplySync:
- Orders → Record Payment → Charge a Card
- Invoices → Record Payment → Charge a Card
- Contacts → Charge Now
- Contacts → Create Subscription
- Subscriptions → Create Subscription
Simply enter the customer's gift card code, validate it, and the available balance will be applied to the payment. If the gift card covers the full amount, the payment is completed using only the gift card. If not, the remaining balance is automatically charged using the customer's saved payment method. This process is consistent with how gift cards are used on customer-facing checkouts, ensuring clarity and transparency for both you and your customers.
